Default 4wd engaged but not working

Hey, I have a 2000 ram 1500, And when i put the truck into 4L the front driveshaft will spin, However the front tires will not. Sometimes it hard shifts from Neutral to Drive in 4wd and it feels like the truck has more power, However when testing the 4wd the front wheels do not move. Any suggestions as to what it could be?

Have a look here. If the lite in the dash isn't coming on, likely just a vacuum problem. If the lite does work properly, then maybe a problem inside the CAD itself.

Vacuum switch on top of transfer case, CAD unit leaking, or vacuum line leaking if it's vacuum related.

if it is vacuum related problem just delete the vacuum crap and get the posi loc. It is a cable actuator that replaces the vacuum actuator. Then you know your 4wd will work when you need it.
