if it needs replaced, replace with the best you can afford. do you plan to keep the rig long enough to justify a $500 tracbar and could you install it since it requires drilling 2 semi precision holes in the crossmember? or are you trying to kick the can down the road a few more miles for less than $100?

personally, i plan to keep my truck and am semi restoring it, so i went with the spohn bar... about $330, solves the factory bar problems and super easy to fab a replacement bar if ever needed.

If you are planning to keep the truck a while, I would at least upgrade your track bar to a 3rd gen style track bar, which requires the use of an aftermarket bracket. I upgraded to a Solid Steel adjustable track bar (that has poly bushings in both ends) along with the conversion bracket and have been very happy with it. The only wear items are the bushings and the bolts, which I have spares for.

Yah, I took it to a shop and they shook down my front end, when I bought it some work had been done to it already. A lot of half jobs.

Yes, you can use a Moog. But you may not be happy in a year.

I'm just randomly necro'ing a thread about track bars to say that if you know a machinist locally see if he wants your old bar. This is some good quality round stock, although admittedly I don't know its designation exactly.

I just made a Harley neck stem for an old springer front end from one. This is the type of stem that uses 1-14" at the bottom and the super-special Harley 1-24" at the top....if you're a Harley guy (I'm not).

Anyway....before scrapping it see if you can give it to a good cause.

Cool info. I am a Harley guy but not to the extent of fabbing a neck for a springer.

I would thing there is enough aftermarket stuff out there where you wouldn't have to use one.
