My 99 Ram winds up high and will not shift into 3rd until I release the gas. Sometimes it will shift ok after a few attempts at accelerating to 45 , then taking my foot of the gas, then it goes into o/d with no problem. This problem goes away after the vehicle has warmed up after driving for a while. I have read so many forum posts , and the solutions are sometimes very different. Mine shifts good after it is warm. It has plenty of fluid and the filter.fluid change was done recently. The throttle cable is fine at both ends , with no play.
Would appreciate some help with this, thank you.

 

Band adjustment would be the next step, after that, if it didn't make a difference, I would replace the electronics in the trans.
