I have a 1999 dodge Durango that won't pull in reverse, but all forward gear work fine with no apparent issues. I have been told everything from a complete rebuild to a sonieoid, to wiring issue. I need to know how to tell the diff between the transmissions in order to proceed. It is a 4x4 and the 4x4 works perfectly as well. Any help would be great. motor is 5.2.

 

What engine?

 

5.2 liter

 

Should be a 44RE.

Think I would drop the pan, and see what you find. Might be as simple as a band adjustment.
