Default PCV I知 a dummy

I for some reason thought the PCV valve was on the passenger side so I ended up breaking whatever is on the valve cover and then looked on the driver side and replaced the PCV in a couple minutes. So what did I break on the passenger side valve cover? There was a hose going to the air intake off of it. It痴 a third vehicle so not critical but I壇 like to use the truck soon. 2001 5.9L gas motor

That would be your PCV valve. The device on the drivers side is best described as a breather cap. It's allows for air circulation from the drivers side of the engine. The breather cap can either suck OR blow gases from the crankcase, depending on the engine condition.

Do you have a photo that you can share here in this thread of what you broke off on the passenger side valve cover so that we can all see it and be sure of what it is?

Probably a 90 degree elbow? Rumor has it, they have them in the help section at your local parts store.
