Default Headlights

I have a 1998 Dodge Ram PU and the headlights seem relatively dim especially on low beam. I have replaced the bulbs with whatever the stock bulb calls for with no improvement.

Has anyone got advice on what my options are to improve the intensity of the lighting?

yes, you can go to the sport headlight setup... I have it on my truck (there's a pic of my front end in another thread if you want to see it) and I have the headlights setup for both bulbs on for both low and high beams... output is really nice.

if you want to spend the cash..you can get an HID kit that makes the headlights look like them new bmw's lights..SUPER killer white... i already have the sport model and i think im gonna kick them into HID... its really expensive but alot of guys at work have them and they love them!!!! and you can get a kit that is made for the type and part# for the bulbs we use..not nessasrily (sp) type make model of your truck...

before plunkin down big bux, you might want to find out how well they hold up with off-roading. if they're not durable enough, it may not be a good idea to go that route

Thanks for the info on the replacement lights from Import Vision- very helpful. I will probably order these or another brand that is similar although I haven't found anything else on the internet after doing some preliminary searching.

Hope I don't sound too dumb but I have done virtually no work on my Dodge pickup. It was originally a company truck so I just brought to my mechanic whenever I needed anything done to it. My two Corvettes are another story.

Is it possible to just put a higher intensity bulb in the existing assembly? It seeems that the new assembly just provides for a more powerful bulb. I would think that you could put a more powerful bulb in the existing assembly assuming that it fits. In the worst case you may have to rewire for this, but you have to do this anyway with the new headlight assembly from Import Vision.

the current setup allows for only 1 bulb. you could swap it for a PIA bulb which is about the brightest out there. the dual bulb setup however is the way to go.
