Default 99 ram transmission or TC case issues

Having issues with the used tranny I put in but I'm starting to think maybe it's the TC I'm at a loss ? It goes into reverse from park no problem then a few seconds later it's out of gear then a few more seconds it's back in . Putting it in drive it takes longer to engage . I hear a sound like something is hitting the inside of the TC . Please help I'm so disappointed after changing the tranny it fixed one issue but now I have another

How did the flexplate look when you had the trans out? Wonder if its cracked??

Could be an electronics problem in the trans, but, the noise...... that doesn't sound normal at all.

How many quarts of ATF+4 did you use to restore fluid level, post-installation?

thank you for responding apparently I didn' wait long enough for the air to dissipate and was getting a false full reading . I topped it up and seems to be fine.

Cool. Had the same symptoms recently after a shift kit install along with a solenoid kit install in parallel. I thought 7 quarts was going to be enough; it wasn't. 8 seemed to work for me.

If I were you, I'd keep an eye on level for the next couple of days. Remember not to overfill.

All the Best,
YMMV
