Default 99 Ram 1500 wont start

This past Tues my truck wouldnt start it clicked once and then everything had no power. It would slowly power everything again in about 20-40secs. I removed the starter and ended up breaking the stud where the cable goes too.
I tested the starter anyway at a shop and it was fine.
I installed a new starter and the truck clicked once and powerrd down just like before the started was touched.
i went under the truck and touched the neutral safety switch on the transmission it looked fine. I go back to start it and now it cranks but wont start. Is it possible i put the starter in wrong or is it something else?
Transmission is 3years old from PATC.

If it does indeed crank but won't start it's your crank position sensor. It's on the passenger side behind the engine in the bell housing on top.

Might want to clean the terminals on the battery.

Make sure to clean the ground cable and where it attaches to the block.

Check the following: IAC, crankshaft position sensor, I would make sure all electrical connections between the battery, starter, and power distribution center are well connected. Might be the starter relay fuse located in the power distr. center., perhaps the neutral safety switch located on the underside of the truck.

I changed out the starter since it was pretty rusty but it came back ok.
Im now replacing the ckps.
the neural safety switch tested out fine with ohms reader.

Does anyone know the bolt size for the ckps? I dropped them and cant find them.

I finally got it running again. The ignition coil wire harness had been probed a while back before i bought it and the copper wire finally corroded completely. Seems to be running better now too.

One of the problems with a used vehicle no clue what they did to it. Glad you got her or him running
