Default Another 46re issue...

Hey all, new to the forum.
I have a feeling the issue I'm having is a weak or failing front pump, just wanting to confirm my suspicions. 2000 1500 4x4 5.9 46re. Transmission shifts as it should and never slips, but over the last year it has developed a pretty good whine. Like a bad power steering pump. Check valve is good, changed trans filter and fluid, no change. Anything I may not be thinking of?

Did you find anything interesting in the pan when you changed the fluid/filter?

2 or 4 wheel drive?

I haven't worked on an automatic n a while...however...the first thing to try is changing the fluid n filter. Whining is either a clogged filter or a failing pump. Either way, the torque conv and oil pump are workin' overtime.
