Default 46RE shift criteria / components, from stop vs kickdown

150K, new front band, new electrics, fluids, etc, JR shift kit by the book

Very pleased with trans in general.
However, ...
When I floor it from a full stop it shifts right at 4000, great by me. ( I would like 3600, 3700, but I'm gonna allow a bit for slip?)
But when it kicks down say 40 -60 ish, it runs up into the red marks on the tach (52, 5300?), anyway much later than full from stop.
What could be the difference?
The TV cable is set by the book.
Is there a tradeoff I need to do?
Possibly the speed sensitive setting vs the throttle setting?

Thank any and all!

I would try the TV cable first, sounds like it is dropping down to second, and not third.

Have you checked the TV cable?

Yup, sounds like the TV cable is too tight. Pushing it into 2nd and holding it there until redline. Had this happen once or twice on me when I first got it. It doesn't take much.

OK, I have tried moving the locking connector setup 1 tooth in and then again, 1 tooth out from perfect by the book, to no effect.
I've read a lot of threads on this, and everyone seems to describe it differently.
Do you mean....
make the cable jacket shorter (jacket connector goes into cable more) , and then the cable itself will then be past (towards the radiator) the stud before assembly?

THX

I babbled on quite a bit in this video but hopefully it gets the point across.
