Default Rear pinion seal?

Was wondering if I could get help on wether I have a 8.25 rear pinion gear or a 9.25 so I would be able to find the right pinion seal for my Dodge

If you don't even tell us what you are driving, how are we supposed to help you? I could take a stab in the dark, and guess a Dodge Ram..... but, half-ton? 3/4 ton? 1 ton??????? Help us help you.

I drive a 2001 Dodge ram 1500 5.2 SLT laramie quad cab short bed I read that there is a tag on the rear diff to tell you but mine was missing.

You have a 9.25 rear end. The tag was supposed to tell you gear ratio, and maybe if you had a limited slip of some sort.

Can you only find that information on the tag or are you able to find out another way
