Default Fastman TB increase or decrease in MPG?

To all who have this what did your MPG do?

I see its only 250.00 Might do this after the hyperpack is in so I can see what the built in dyno says.

Mine didnt change at all-did decrease a little d/t me wanting to romp on it, but after i settled down, saw no changes. Hyperpack won't do anything for your throttle response, will change shift points--rev limiter--thermostat... etc etc...you need the larger TB to make a big difference. Had a Hyperpack on my F-150 Off Road...did absolutely nothing, and for the price your paying I hope it works better for u. I personally would have done the TB first before the Hyperpack

you had the same model and or type? This has just been released I thought. It has the same tuning program in it thats in the power programmer 3. I know the guys in the group say they saw a increase in performance after the computer tune. your making me nervous. oh and for the TB swap I was thinking it might be a nice test for the so-called built in dyno. Tb will be next. Thanks for your input on the TB

Same type without Dyno, I believe it was a Superchips, had most of the powertune options that the Hyperpack has. I could change my shift points, set my rev limiter, change my fuel curves, seems that the Hyperpack has a few more options so don't get nervous on me...lol. My point was that for yrs people were buying chips and powerprogrammers but they are limited to what the stock equipment can do. You not gonna unlock any magical HP on the stock motor

You can put a cool air intake on a stock 50MM TB that can suck 700 CFM of air. Will that cool air intake allow more than 700 CFM.......no....just cooler air.

Take the same cool air intake and put it on a 52 MM FASTMAN TB and now your sucking 950 CFM of Cold air. Thats the type of changes you need to utilize the power of the tuner. Without the mods to the engine you have a really cool LCD screen in your truck.

When I was a kid playing with my Chevelles and Nova's, I would always start at the rear end and work my way to the motor. Sometimes i was very happy with the results and left the motor stock.

Oh and before anyone goes quoting CFM from above they are for example only, not accurate. I am curious to see how it works for ya but like I said earlier, I woulda started with the TB first.

I will do the TB but since the hyperpac has been ordered - or should I say in limbo somewhere on back order - Im just going to let the pack come and then get the TB. Then after the TB - its headers and then pushrods. That should lead me right up to the end of my tour in europe. I'll be buying my first house in june/july 2006 and I figure I'll be broke as hell. The dodge will have to stop sucking money out of me -

thanks again for your advice

I haven't really calculated it just yet. I know I've been having some fun getting into it so thats definetly not helping the MPG but its a V8 anyways so WTH!?

Man i wouldnt waste money on headers unless your porting heads, and then your only gonna see a minimal increase. Seems like those damn things always end up leaking to. Again only my opinion.

I'll second this motion....... I have done several other things to try and improve mileage also (see sig.) and none of it has helped. Truck runs better but still gets 12 mpg.........

Same here, I have done several things to improve mpg as well and no matter what I do I get 12mpg every time. It doesn't matter if I drive like my grandmother or I am trying to put a hole in my floor baord! Even put a bed cover on and still nothing. But like Racinfan83 said, my truck runs like a beast and still gets the same mpg. I can live with that.
