Lifting my 2nd gen dodge ram!
Hi my name is Kyle Carson. I am new to this forum. I have a 2002 dodge ram 2500 v10. I want to put a 5inch Rough Country suspension lift kit in my truck. I would like to know if I get this suspension lift, will I have extend anything such as break lines, drive shaft, etc. As of now everything is stock. I have 17inch factory rims, I would like 35x12.50r17 on my truck. Any thing will help guys.

Under the heading of I've always been curious?!?...
I watched one of those 4WD mod'ing pickup shows on TV 1 day. Those guys ground off the old leaf spring mounts of the rear axle, (I don't recall the front axle job) and welded new ones on at an different angle to deal with the lift (lift was only a few inches for off roading/35" tires, that kinda thing). Is this something common to "lifting" or just u-joint protection for extreme off roaders?

Just some thoughts:
An 02 2500 will fit 35s with only a leveling kit. They can easily handle 33s at stock since a 1500 can.
Stock wheels were 16" in 02 so you must have 3rd or 4th gen 17" wheels.
If you go up 5 inches with 35s on stock off-set wheels it will look tucked in and small but new wheels that fill a 35 out will help.
Get the most comprehensive kit you can with long arms, track bar bracket, drop pitman, etc. because all the stock components are pretty well maxed out already.

As somebody else said contact the company that sells the kit or the manufacturer.
my own expieriance, I put a 3" skyjacker lift on my 2000 ram 1500 and I kinda regret it. Sure it looks awesome. I've got 33x12.5s on 15x10 wheels. Ever since I lifted it it's handled squirrelly on the highway, the big tires seem to be constantly out of balance and constantly wearing uneavenly. I'm getting ready to put my stock wheels back on and just run slightly taller tires. If I had to do it over again I'd just install a leveling kit up front and add a leafs in the back. That'd be less invasive and easier to remove if I got tired of it.
for your particular situation, you do realize that 35s will drastically change your gear ratio, right. Someone else said you could fit 33s on a 2500 stock. If you just want it to look cool you could get leveling spacers and 33x12.50s on 10" wheels. That'll look pretty awesome and still be easily reversable when you get tired of it. Save you a lot of money to.

I've had my Skyjacker 3" kit on since 2010 and over 120k without a single issue. It is waaaaay better than stock springs and parts!
If you've had issues with wheels and tires, then start with the front end steering, track bar, steering gear, etc. I have replaced everything and done it right and it drives perfectly. Springs and AAL won't affect what you're describing anyway.
