I have a couple different PC m I put one on the truck and none of the gauges work I put the other one on the truck all the gauges work then I have another one I can put on the truck all the gauges work but it's stuck in tow mode these are all on the same truck and I was told that I need to have pcm flashed

For what you need to have done, its likely a dealer PCM flash, unless someone procured the equipment from a dealership to perform the flash and knows how to do it. Still seems that self-flashing our JTEC PCMs are out of reach for the masses.

I was told that if I get a j2534 pass through device and a subscription to the Mopar website I should be able to flash it myself is that true or false

I checked into that some time ago and at the time, there was a substantial cost to obtain the subscription.

The 2000 trucks will need the PCM flashed to the correct VIN. Otherwise, things like ABS, and SRS get offended. If you are seeing other issues, I highly doubt a simple flash is going to change anything.
