Default 1999 Dodge 2500 v10 Camshaft Replacement

I picked up a 1999 Dodge 2500 recently that needs a totally engine rebuild. I have found everything, except for the cam at a reasonable price. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can pick up a cam for under $500? Thank you!

That is a VERY good question. It seems to be discontinued, and even when I search by part number, nothing really comes up. Not even summit seems to have anything for the V-10...... Hughes maybe?

I'll have to call them tomorrow and see what they say.
Is there a motor that could he swapped in its place?

Only thing that will bolt in is the diesel, and that would be a pretty involved swap.

I don't think the viper cams (even the really mild ones, will work in our motors.

Cam part number: 53020842

None of the 'mopar' sites have it. Of course, I think they all use the same catalog/inventory system in any event. So, aftermarket manufacturers, or a custom grind are likely your only options.

Give Crower and Comp Cams a call. They were both offering cams for the V10 magnum, but I think they were just over your price point.

Crower V10 cams.
