I don't know what the difference is, but, there evidently IS a difference...... so, stick with the stuff that is specifically for your motor. If you can't find it in the catalogue, CALL them, and talk to a live human being.

It's not making any strange noises and has decent oil pressure. Just gonna order standard sized stuff.

Sorry for the late reply trying to figure out my own electrical problems. Yes it was factory and this is a big difference as they had higher compression so you got thicker rings.

I just pulled the heads off. The cylinder with the lowest compression has a blown head gasket. Putting oil in the cylinder wouldn't raise the compression if the head gasket was the only problem would it ?

Nope. oil in the cylinder only brings up pressure if rings are the ONLY problem. If the cylinder walls look good, you might be ok. Could put a bore gauge on it, and check for taper/out of round. Can probably rent one at the local parts store.

Cylinder walls look good. The stock ring was at like .05 gap so I'm assuming that's my issue. New one is .018 out of the box.
