Default autoatic to manual swap

I bought a 96 dodge ram 1500 that had a automatic to manual swap done. there is 7 check engine codes for transmission as well as reverse lights don't work. from my research I believe I need to take the computer out and put a manual computer in the truck. and all the codes and neutral safety switch will work .

I have a few questions:

1. do I need to swap out the computer?
2. is it possible to flash the computer for a manual?
3. is there a way to wire up the reverse lights to work when put in reverse without using neutral safety switch?

No neutral safety switch on manual trans, there is a clutch switch instead. Reverse lite switch also moved, just need to modify the wiring so you can plug it in. (which likely means a different connector.....) Scavenging the manual trans harness would be your best bet, provided you can find one.......

Should be able to have the PCM flashed with a manual trans tune. Dealer should be able to do it, or, get a tuner from hemifever, or flyin' ryan.
