Ok. I have a 99 ram 1500 4x4 and its a 5.9
the driver side axle is broke at the ujoint so its not connected.because the both connector peices as been twisted off completely as if the tire was being grabbed by boulder on eash side. But anyway. . And the axle is tied down with 4 big zip ties upper and lower part. Not my doing!
But its centered. When i get going and then begin to slow down, sometimes i hear a grinding in the front end but its not constant it fades. And i also hear a noise as if its the beginning of a roller coaster ride as your going up almost as if its the sound of gears or sprockets clicking??? I just bought this off someone so it is paid for ALL thoughts are well welcomed ty

Pull the cover off the front diff, and see what ya got. That broke for a reason. Likely the previous owner was using 4x4 on pavement...... never a good scene. Need to see what other carnage was caused.

Welcome to DF!

The axle shafts are splined to the hubs. They are still spinning. You need to take the whole front axle apart and see what's wrong. If you're lucky, you only need a new axle shaft. Mine destroyed the yolks after the u-joint broke as I drove it the rest of the way home. I wish they still had locking hubs so you could unlock them and stop the shaft from spinning.
