Hi!

For about 4 months ago the "check engine" light came on.
To try and get some info I bought a scanner that was supposed to handle my OBD-system.
It didnīt show anything and I made a reset and in that case the run like crap.
When it finally came around I learned that if I cranc the engine and donīt have the AC on I get a "check engine" message.
I donīt know why but I almost always use the AC so ......
I have also tried a few more advanced scanner programs that a friend of mine has but they fail to connect with the vehicle.
Thinking of buying some PC-based scanner tool but havent decided wich one yet.

I canīt remember clearly if I had vibrations before this problem occurred but I bonīt think so.
Yes, it shakes a little at 70 - 75 mph but itīs a truck, slightly higher and wider than standard and it has two extra leafsprings/side at the back
so it is fairly stiff.

Kind regards//
Micke

Do the parts stores in your area have scanners you can try and read codes with?

Most of the PC-based software I have seen, isn't really useful...... unless you spend a couple hundred bucks on it......

Hi!

Yes, i bought a handheld scanner that was supposed to work....
Either it didnīt or there are no codes.

I just called a former colleague that has opend up his own shop.
He has one of those expensive PC-based scanners and he will lend it to me, I have used that one before
on my BMW and it fairly easy to use.
Iīm going ther in a few hours and will hope for the best, that it might tell me something about the transmission.

Kind regards//

Hi Micke,

Are you thinking you'd like to get this looked at by the dealer? Send me a direct message with your VIN if so as I'd be glad to help with that process.
