hopping RPM

Hey guys and gals. My 1997 ram 1500 with 5.2L has been giving me an interesting problem. at speed, the engine will "hop" or bounce about 500 RPM. This only happens, as far as I've noticed, in 4th gear. This also only happens in certain places. In Ohio, I had no problems. In NC, it occurs frequently. Any ideas on what to do?

Probably TCC disengaging/engaging. Sometimes caused the the throttle position sensor.
