Hello All!

I have a 98 dodge ram 1500 5.2L Auto transmission.

I'm having an issue with i believe is my overdrive? I'm not too good with cars or trucks.. but! Sometimes when I'm driving it will shift from first to second then get stuck.. other times it will go from first, to second and then 3rd then get stuck in 3rd and not shift into 4th gear. I do currently have a vacuum leak in my truck. I'm honestly not sure if it's a problem with my transmission or the vacuum leak causing issues and it is interment. Sometimes it works perfect and shifts thru all 4 gears.. but any ideas or if you have had the same problem and fixed it, let me know. Greatly appreciated!

 

The vacuum leak *shouldn't* matter.... unless it fools the computer into think engine load is higher than it actually is..... that will affect shift points..... TV cable might be sticking as well. When was the last time the fluid and filter were changed, and bands adjusted on the trans?
