Default Crumpled in freeze plug

so I tried getting it out but it just tore the center out and yeah...can I just get the most I can out and make it kinda flat and just put the new one in? The new one is a rubber one that just expands, so I’m thinking just put some rtv on it and send it?
sorry for so many posts today, they’re just all not related, thank you for the advice though!

Take a blunt punch, pick an edge, and drive it INTO the motor. Once it breaks loose, should be able to just grab, and twist, and take the rest out.

Get one of the brass drive-in freeze plugs...... MUCH more reliable than the rubber fellers. consider, the brass plug won't fail for quite some time, and it will do so slowly. You will see a drip and can address it. The plug, on the other hand, will fail all at once. (fall out) and empty your engine of coolant in a few short seconds...... and if you are driving at freeway speeds, first you will notice is when the temp gauge pegs out, at which point, it is likely to late........

And, use a deep cup style brass freeze plug - the size is 1-5/8" diameter. Once you get the old plug completely out and drive in a new deep cup brass plug, you will have no more issues with that freeze plug.

Yep. This. Fix it once. Fix it right. Never worry about it again.
