Default Transmission shifting

01' ram 1500 4x4, 5.9, 46re-
My trans shifts good and runs cool. No big issues. However, first gear seems to hold longer then id like and when it shifts it doesn't seem as firm as the other gears (which shift perfectly). Under normal to light acceleration it will shift out of first into second around 1800 - 2k. But any moderate acceleration and it holds to 3k. It just seems, and feels like it holding first gear to long. Also when it shifts from first to second it's not as firm of a shift as the other gears.
Is the first gear shift controlled by something different then 2nd 3rd and OD? Is there an adjustment i can make that specifically targets first gear shift? Also, im considering buying this -
https://www.cascadetransmissionparts...kit2000up.aspx along with this
https://www.yourcovers.com/transpan_9393.php - 2qt extra cast aluminum pan

What can i do to make the first gear shift better? Like i mentioned there is nothing really wrong with the trans, id just like first to shift sooner.

Thanks in advance!

i adjusted the tv cable very slightly, maybe i should move it another 1/8 ". Im adjusting it out towards the firewall, this correct?
For adjusting the front band, what the recommended consensus for number of turns to back out the adjusting screw? 1 7/8 - 2? This is after first tightening it down to 8 ft lbs right?
Thanks for the help!

2 turns out on both bands. After tightening to SIX foot pounds.

Adjust the TV cable so you get the shifts you want. The more you pull it back toward the firewall, the longer the trans will hold gears, and the harder it will shift. Get it where you like, not holding gears to long, or hitting them too hard. (nor shifting too soon.....) It's a fun process to get it exactly where you want it.
