Question 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 interior question

Hi gang,

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 "sport" version 4x4.....My question for today is:

I need to safely remove the dash "bezel" trim...I have the service manual which indicates a brief detail of removal.

Just wondering if any "tricks or recommendations" are out there to help me safely remove the DASH COVER "BEZEL"???....I need to remove the RADIO for inspection and possible repairs.

Thanks!!!!

Mike

They break easily.... Just held in by clips, so, pry CAREFULLY, work them out a little at a time, all the way around. Don't try and pull the clip completely, and move on to the next, that WILL break it.

pulling from the bottom edge on each side of the steering column work well for me. That area of the bezel is less exposed to sunlight so it may be slightly stronger. Then just SLOWLY work your way around until it pops off. Using some plastic pry tools https://www.harborfreight.com/nylon-...-pc-69668.html
to get started.

You'll need to put the trans in low (get the arm out of the way), also tilt the steering wheel down. I used a plastic putty knife from Walmart to get behind and carefully move it out right where the clips are. When it comes out, I put a little grease on the clips so they don't get hung up next time or when you push them back in.
