what are the differences between the 1994-1997 241dld and the 1998-2002 241dld

Shift pattern, shifter mounting, no provision for VSS on 98 and up.

I swapped the mounting piece will it work in a 2000 5.9

It’s from a 1996 cummins 12v with a 47re mines a 2000 24v with a 47re

Bolt right in. Shift pattern will be different, and you won't use the VSS on the tailhousing. May have to modify the shift linkage for the t-case, but, not sure on that.
