Hey guys,
Got my truck a few months ago - love it. But.....the plastic cover in front of the guages has a cloudy film (like someone used the wrong cleaner on it according to a friend) and I'm getting tired of looking at it. Does anyone know how to remove that cloudy film on the plastic or do I need to just get a new plastic guage cover? If I need to replace it, has anyone done this and any advice on doing it???? Tried different cleaners and nothing works. Thanks

 

Try rubbing alchohol..I had something like that similiar happen to a side mirror on a Ford Ranger I use to have. I tried windex, 409, Dawn liquid soap and I called a dealership to see how much they wanted for a new mirror (turned out to be close to $100.) Then I remembered that to take the leftover sticker remnants off of paint and windows that I use rubbing alchohol. Worked like a champ! Maybe it will work for you. Good luck.

 

You can try some of the plastic polish made for for aircraft windows it cleans pretty goood and won't scrach the plastic. make sure you get the dust off first with a damp rag. Mirror glaze is one product. you can fid it at some auto stors or your local airport.

 

I'll try the rubbing alcohol tonight....if it doesn't work I'll try the plastic polish tomorrow night. Thanks for the advice!

 

you can also try glass polish it might take it off or take the cover off and wash it wit good soap and see wat happens?
