Default 1995 Ram 1500 heater core replacement

Is it necessary to remove the dash to replace the heater core on a 1995 Ram 1500 with A/C? If so, how big of a job is it?

Don't know but i would prefer to remove the dash. This way other components, evap core, seals, etc, can be checked. And replace the dash itself as needed. I have seen some good youtube videos on this for second and fourth Gen. Rams. Yes, it's a big task but very doable.

The dash doesn't have to come all the way out.
It's about a 4 to 6 hour job.
This video will help, I don't agree with cutting the tubes on the new core,
that will void the warranty
