Ever considered going with the OEM style power towing mirrors? While more expensive, they seem to be better made. I had the same problem with the stock style side view mirrors flopping around and ended up changing to the OEM style power towing mirrors.

not on my all original SST.. If I did anything I would go with a set of 98 up mirrors as I think I still have the wiring diagram
I made up when I did them on my ramsport but im trying to stay factory as I do show the truck

My truck is far from a show truck, and when my mirrors got floppy, I swapped them out for the 1998-2002 style mirrors. I have a wiring diagram as well, let me know if it's needed.

I put on one aftermarket on my 2000, not the same style, but it vibrated so bad I took it off and just RnR'd the original. You have to be careful about manufacturer. I find that parts that are rated for insurance claims tend to be much better quality.

How do you determine that a given part is insurance claim rated?

Ok, my notes a little cryptic from 3.5 years ago when I replaced my mirrors, but if I'm reading them correct then the below is true. Note: I did have to cut off the connector/harness from the OEM mirror to attach to the new mirror.

Driver Side:
White wire from mirror connects to the Red wire from harness
Blue wire from mirror connects to the Green wire from harness
Yellow wire from mirror connects to Blue wire from harness

Passenger Side:
Yellow wire from mirror connects to Purple wire from harness
Blue wire from mirror connects to Red wire from harness
White wire from mirror connects to Green wire from harness
