yes the 98 up mirrors have different shape and I found from experience the same thing you did.. they vibrated like HELL.. so blurry at 65 they were useless

on the flag style mirrors I haven't read anything about vibration issues but certain brands have fitment issues,, LMC has still not responded to my questions so that's kind of
**** poor customer service

I may just buy from amazon since they have a no questions asked free return policy .. if it suck it will go right back

Driver Side:
White wire from mirror connects to the Red wire from harness
Blue wire from mirror connects to the Green wire from harness
Yellow wire from mirror connects to Blue wire from harness

Passenger Side:
Yellow wire from mirror connects to Purple wire from harness
Blue wire from mirror connects to Red wire from harness
White wire from mirror connects to Green wire from harness

Isn't there a reinforcement bracket that goes on the inside of the door to help stabilize the mirrors?

There is certainly one added for the towing mirrors - not sure if that really helps for the stock style mirrors. The issue I had was related to the post that connects the mirror to the wedge mount that bolts to the truck's door. If something hits the mirror, the post ended up flopping around and caused the mirror to vibrate when the truck moves.

For me, it wasn't a reinforcement problem - the mirror housing was not rigid as stock was. I put a new mirror in the original housing, surprising how easy that was - just pops out - and snap the new one in. I cleaned the housing a few times with meguiar's ultimate black. Looks pretty good, and the housing is solid ALL the time.

The best restorer is Meguiars Black Spray. It's almost like spray paint. You have to mask off everything though. I get all my replacements through 1AAuto and haven't had any vibrations problems
