Default remind me... trick(s) to get torque converter fully seated?

having a hard time getting the torque converter to fully seat on the transmission now that have changed the pump and seals... any tricks to get it to go the last little bit? I seem to remember that there were some last time I did this, but don't remember what they are and a search did not come up with anything obvious...

Thanks for any insights! Cheers!

wiggle and turn it while pushing in gently. Should go in fairly easy. Just gotta get everything to line up.

whats your build...there maybe a measurement in service info you can take with a straight edge across the bell housing to the tc to verify its seated all theway.

It also helps to see where the pump tangs are so you can position the converter accordingly. After that it's getting the splines to line up.

Thank!

transmission and torque converter both came out of this setup and are from a 1998 ram 2500 4wd originally (46re, 241d transfer case behind a 5.9, currently in a 99 ram van I've done a 4wd conversion on behind a 5.2). I swapped the front pump out from a different transmission I had because it was leaking and the vent cover on the back of the original original pump was distorted. Had a little difficulty getting the pump to slide all the way on at first (I was sideways under the vehicle), but it slid on most of the way and I gently drew it down using the bolts (do I need to get it out from under the van remove the front pump again and make sure it's not binding anywhere? surely it wouldn't have pulled down if there was a problem there). The toque converter will slide in most of the way, but it looks like it isn't going quite all the way in. it's about a half inch past (recessed) the edge of the bell housing, but there's still a fair amount of room behind it and rough measurements of the flex plate position indicates there won't be much if any room between the bolts and the flex plate if I put the transmission up. I seem to remember that it would be about a half inch away from the flex plate before and then slide forward to put the bolts in. Maybe it's fine and I need to remeasure it again more carefully when I get back on it today.

Thanks again for your input.
