46re Tranny Prob
So I bought this 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 just about a month ago and this past week its been acting wierd. I'll be driving and I'll feel what i assume is a slip? After this I know my truck wont shift into 3rd gear(allegedly). It drives, shifts only once and will have to run on high rpms to keep up in the high way so like 3000, 4000 rpm. This happens like everyother day and sometimes it shifts like a dream. Can anyone point towards a solution?

Try this test. (where's that notepad document I always talk about????? Hhhhmmmm.......)
Crawl under the truck, and locate the 8 pin connector for the trans. It's on the drivers side, about halfway back. Plugs straight down into the top of the valve body area. Doing this disables ALL the electronics in the trans. So, NO automatic function whatsoever. You will have to start in first, and up/downshift as required. There will be no O/D, or TCC either. (both electronically controlled.) If it goes into the gear you tell it to, when you tell it to, it's just an electronic problem, and replacing the governor stuff will solve it. If it still behaves funny, then you have a mechanical problem, and it's rebuild time.
