You are welcome! As RamMan said depending on your financial situation, you could try to temperary stop it.

I really need it reliable next week to help finish the move so I’d rather just get it done. It emptied the whole overflow tank in two trips totalling probably three miles so it was coming out pretty quick once warmed up

Time to get it fixed. It also has the potential to leak INTO the engine, and mix with the oil. That'll smoke your motor awfully quick.

Well good news the mechanic was able to get a better look and he said it was coming from the rubber hose that connects to the top of the water pump(bypass hose it looks like). I remember it being in kind of rough shape and hard to get it connected when I was putting things back together. So it’s going to be much cheaper to get me back on the road.

If you have pliers and $16 you can do it yourself...

I’ll consider this one a stupid tax for not doing it while I had things apart. I’m in a time crunch and no tools but it’s done

Glad I searched this. After doing my entire cooling system ( except heater core). On your advice, I did the timing set also. Two months later it started leaking anti freeze on the right side. Pulled it back down and replaced the water pump and timing chain cover gaskets. Now two months later or so it is now leaking on the left side. The only thing I haven't checked is the by-pass hose. That's what happens when you get old I guess. So if it's not the by-pass hose, which might be able to do this weekend, what would you recommend for a better gasket maybe Also some of the bolts as you know have what appears to be blue thread lock. Should these bolts have pipe dope or pipe tape. I'm using permatex blue gasket sealer for the water pump gasket. Please be the by-pass hose. The top radiater hose had to be tighted also. Thanks for any input!!
