Default Tsb for ticking, knocking

I've had a noisy engine since I bought it a year ago.

It is non fatal as far as I can tell and not uncommon to the model it seems. I ran into this during some googling and was wondering what you guys thought?

http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1999/25-01-99.htm

to test they recommend "actuating" the valve...any idea what they might specifically mean by actuate?

seems like an easy fix if I can find the replacement bracket.

Never mind... what they mean is put your hands on it and see if it is what is making noise.

and...it is definitely a small knocking sound coming out of it. Though just a small one.

Actuating means hooking up a diagnostic computer program (alltel or similar) to force the PCM to make the solenoid actuate as opposed to letting it happen as designed so that you can definitively tell where the noise is.

This is not a problem. The purge solenoid will make noise. It's what they do. I don't even hear mine anymore.
