What about hoses? Did you check or replace any of them? Is the radiator factory?

all hoses replaced prior to last west coast trip last summer, did check before last flush last week, no dry rot, all very serviceable and flexible, all clear, no blockage, and spring in lower hose good. the radiator was factory. I replaced it because I was out of ideas, used an OEM dodge rad, exact same size, style, didn't make a difference.

The only thing not new is the rad cap, however, if anything, I think a bad cap would cause me to overheat. opinions?

A bad cap would not hold pressure and usually cause overheating, but I do believe it can rarely cause overcooling. I would imagine that it could. Try it. They are only $12 I know it happened to me once, but I can't be sure as I replaced a hose to.

that's what I thought, but its the only thing not replaced. after everything I did replace, what's another 12 bucks gonna hurt. ill try that tonight, pick one up on my way home and take a ride down the highway. I'll keep trying, and I will be able to monitor any ideas you all may send me as I travel a lot, but if I find the cure, I will definitely let all know.

If it isn't the cap, the only thing left is hoses or you are getting the wrong temp thermostat. You don't lose any coolant do you?

it was not the cap, bought a new one and drove 40-50 miles. I would think thermostat also, but like I said I have replaced with 7 new ones. not an exaggeration. I really have put 7 in, all rated 195. have not lost fluid, none on the floor after sitting, and hoses are pressurized after running. no leaks anywhere. my neighbor lent me his thermo gun, all readings about 179-181. I am going to put in the new sensor when I get it. I have heard bad things about the electronics from some part stores when it comes to dodge, so I ordered a good one from a dealer. id like to see how it reads. I have taken this to a dodge mechanic, here near Pittsburgh, showed him 4 thermostats I put in before I put in additional ones, bought one from him and it did the same thing. I also think I will get a new thermos gun to ensure the one I used wasn't abused and mis-reading. I like to be sure. I had multiple people with ideas, and nothing resolves, a real stumper. I think I may end up taking it in and seeing if they offer a guarantee with work, like if we cant fix it, you don't pay, otherwise, ill deal with luke heat until I can come up with another idea.

However, any suggestions will be taken and acted on as I am out of ideas. All says thermostat, wish I had a second that was heating properly, id pull that thermostat and see what it would do. I am hoping to get the new stuff tomorrow night, but will be working late, so will not re-address until Friday evening, but I will let all know what I find.

however, any suggestions will be taken, as I am out of them.

If the video don't play. Google heater treater.
Just wondering if the vent doors behind the dash are not working.
