Default NO Reverse

HI Everyone!

I have a 2002 dodge 1500 4x2, 5.9. I went to back up and I heard a pop, the truck eventually did back up but just to find out later that day the reverse is gone. All forward gears work fine even the OD, Any though?

Might find more info in the 2nd gen ram section. The 5.9 in 02 used the 46re thats in the 2nd gen rams. Most 3rd gen rams have the 45rfe and are a totally different transmission

Drop the pan, and see what you find. It might be as simple as the band strut fell out. (happens all to frequently) If the band itself needs to be replace, various folks sell 'slip in' replacements, that don't require a complete tear-down of the trans.
