i know iknow iknow!!! i should knwo this... but with my extreme efforts into not know ANYTHING about transmisions, for the sake of i never want to work on one... ive always been curious of what this does and why is it there? im ashamed for not knowing... but im curious!! please dont make too much fun of me! thanks

 

hahahahahahaha not to get to technical on you, it like the same thing as a clutch exept it does everything its self.

 

It transfers engine power to the tranny, but uses fluid to transfer power untill the lock up clutch is engaged.

holy crap...thats about cool huh... so.. that would explain why when i bought the truck..and i let off the brake the truck would creep foward by its self...but now when i let off the brake.. i gotta give it gas for it to move... bad or worn tq converter? i love learning new crap!!!
