Front Axle Bump Stops
Finishing up small stuff on my 4BT swap in my 94 1500(build thread to come), and I've been driving it a bit to make sure everything is going to hold up before I hook up a trailer and get it broke in, but I was working on the dipstick yesterday and noticed the front diff hits the oil pan pretty bad. Haven't measured it yet so I don't know how long bump stops I'm going to need but looking for a place where I can get longer bump stops for the front axle.
Also wondering how do they unbolt from the frame, because I also have some 1/4 plate laying around and could space them out so they sit lower too.
Thanks, Christian.

Bump stops seem like a temporary move. Is it because the 4bt hangs lower, or weighs more and causes more spring compression? If its the first, a suspension lift will enable the clearance and allow proper spring compression. If its the second, replacing the springs with heavier units will enable the truck to retain axle vertical movement within designed limits.

One thing I'm considering now is cutting some of the 1/4 plate I have and either wending or bolting to the square plates on the Dana 44 where the bump stops hit, allowing me to not have to mess with the stops and keep the factory ones. The rubber presses in but the steel cup that they press in to is welded to the frame, so I can't space the stops lower, but I can always stack the axle place higher.
Thanks, Christian.
