Default Tranny problem

Hello, I own a 1999 2500 5.9l gas. I just got this truck 2 days ago... Not sure what exact transmission I have, and it was rebuilt by someone 30,000 miles ago But I am having a problem with shifting.... every gear drags out, i let off the gas and it gerks then shifts into the next gear. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you
