What is telling you it's the pump? Does the used tranny come with a guarantee? Either way it has to come out.

The truck was driving and I keep having to pull over because it would lose it's gear then after so many times that day it eventually didnt have any gear foward or reverse. A mechanic told me he could hear it making some kind of noise.he also said that's the reason why it didn't want to run correctly
l. I also read a post on tranny pumps the actions that it says acts just like my tranny does.

You need a trans from a 95 or older truck, the newer ones simply won't work.

I would not just change the pump. If you are going to all the trouble to drop the trans, rebuild it, or replace it. May wanna drop the pan, and see what you find in there.

The guy is bought the truck from said he dropped tranny replaced plugs and tighten on the reverse band but he said the only thing he didn't do was the pump and valve body so it's one of the two Ima pull the tranny and look check the valve body.clean it up and put the pump also. Cause there is no 94 or 95 tranny nowhere near me and all the trannys for sale cost to much I'm working with a very small budget.
