Default Hypertech

Want to adjust my speedo on my 96. Hypertech only lists it for a 97 Ram but don't they both use the same (96&97) speedometer method? So if it works for a 97 it should work for a 96 right?

They don't even list one for a 96, only 97 and up. There must be something different. I would contact them directly.

Contact them before buying it. I bought a Hypertech programmer for my Step-Sons 2003 Buick Regal to adjust the fans on it because we put in a 180 degree thermostat. Even though their website listed it, it was not an option in the computer. When I emailed them, they were like sorry but oh well.

I'm thinking they don't realize since 96s are OBDll but I will call.

Default Update

They said 96 to 97 is different and has a CTM module. I tried to tell them it dont but they didn't want to here it. Anyhow they stood 96-97 you can't adjust the speedo anyhow. So I'll just buy the Speedo pinion 27 tooth. Does anyone know if we use the short ones or the longer ones

There is no ELECTRONIC adjustment of the speedo, you correct it by changing the gear in the VSS.

I figured I would give it a shot! Some can interpret the signal and change it like they do for the older Fords. Thing that sucks is there is no gear for 3.55 gears and 40in tires. I started on the 2500 axles and have to run these axles for now. My speedo is 15mph off lol

Get one that is as close as you can get, and then remember that it isn't precisely accurate.
