Default Trans problem

Got a 98 1500 5.9 auto, when shifting into second it seems like it shifts then slips, then clicks again and it's fine. Almost if it's shifting coming out of gear then going back in (if that makes any sense). When I drop the shifter into 2 it shifts into 2nd fine but hard. It also shifts fine when I bring the RPMs over 2k in first then let off the gas. Not sure if this is just the tranny or a sensor.

Likely just a sensor.

Second gear is on the intermediate band. Check the bottom of the pan for debris, and adjust the band. Loosen the lock nut off all the way back. Tighten the band adjustment pin to 72inlbs and back it off 1.75 turns. Hold pin and tighten the lock nut.
