obd2 conversion to obd1

Default obd2 conversion to obd1

I got a late model 96 ram with obd2 how hard would it be to convert to obd1 got crate motor also got a obd1 46re or rh allways get confused but the 3 wire not the 8 wire transmission want to run my purple obd1 comp in it is this possable

I think you would just need the OBDI wiring harness for the engine/trans. Likely could score it from any 94-95 Ram, with a V-8, and auto trans. (weight rating just wouldn't matter.)

Doesn't OBDII always come with the PCM driven instrument cluster vs the old school voltage driven gauges ? That would be a world of hurt to swap over, lots of wiring.

96-97 were 'hybrid' systems. Gauges and such were still driven directly from the appropriate sensors. In 98, that all changed, and EVERYTHING, including the friggin' gas gauge, went thru the PCM.
