Default 46re warm weather issues

I have a 1997 ram 5.2 4x4. When the outside air temp gets into the 60's and higher, I can't drive the truck maybe a mile and it does'nt want to go. It takes more rpm and to keep it going. It feels like it's maybe slipping. When the outside air temp is in the 50's and cooler it runs great, I can drive it all day long and it's fine. When I bought it it did not shift right, so I bought a governor, pressure valve, and speed sensor kit. When I dropped the pan the front band strut anchor was laying in the pan. I fixed it and adjusted the bands.I have also replaced the check valve line, and added a trans cooler. It only acts up when it's hot out. Can anybody help me I'm out of ideas at this time. Thanx in advance.

That's gonna be fun to figure out....... Will the trans eventually straighten up, and fly right, even when it's warm out? The trans works fine at lower ambient temps, regardless of engine/trans temp?

Nope can't really drive it when hot out. As soon as i put it in gear I can tell it's not working right.

I suspect you are going to need a scanner.... and even then, it'll be fun to figure out. Need to see what's different with the temp change...... I am REALLY surprised that it isn't something that screws up as the engine warms as well.......

Fluid? It would get thicker when it's cold

Yeah, but, as the trans warms..... One would think, if that were the issue, it would also present the problem....

I am pretty sure this is going to be electrical, but, where?

Well it might still stay cool enough going through the cooler with the ambient temp. If it is wiring I'd have to guess where it runs behind the motor as that is where I think it gets the warmest

Thanx for the replies. When it is cool out even when the engine and trans are at operating temp it still works fine, never know there was a problem
