Default Back up light 2nd gen with a 6 speed

Im having a hard time with my back up lights on my 97 with a 6 speed from a early 2000's 3500
been reading up on the neutral/park sensor but i cant seem to find anything for my situation

What year truck did the donor trans come from? And 'neutral/park' sensor? Are we talking auto, or manual?

According to theory, there should be a switch on the top of the trans (shift tower?) somewhere, for the reverse lights.......

Have a look here.

Looks like the switch is on the passenger side, just to the rear of the shift tower. You can see it in the pic there.
