Default Blowing a fuse in 96 1500

I had a radio installed in my 96 1500. The radio was spliced in. When I turn on the headlights the fuse blows . I still have headlights but no taillights or dash lights. I've replaced the headlight switch. Where should I start to look for the short or a wire hooked up wrong?

Does the radio have an input for the park lights to dim the radio?

Start with the wiring they did when installing the radio, specifically the wire that carries the dimmed output from the dash illumination. Should be a 22g orange wire if I read the diagram correctly.

If you just recently PAID someone to install the radio, take it back to them.

Orange wire is not hooked up to anything. Should that be hooked up to something?

The neighbor installed the radio. He's suppose to be a mechanic. Rather figure it out without him.

Figured it out. The radio ground was hooked up to a ground tied into a ground for the light switch. Hooked ground into a different ground and it works. Thanks for the help
