So what idiot engineer thought that they needed to put cheap champion truck plugs in a performance engine? Iam have to cut the heat shields out of my way to get to the plugs, it's the 5.9 liter engine, any Idea's that would save the heat shields.

Champion is the recommended plug for these engines...

Don't really need the heat shield just yank them out

I certainly wouldn't recommend them! AUTOLITES!

What genius decided to call the Magnum engines "performance engines?"

Nothing wrong with Champions. They last just as long as anything else and the engine runs great with them since they are the OE. Autolites sucked in my Magnum.

And all you need to remove the plugs is a socket. No need to worry about the heat shields. Hmmmm

When i first got my truck i ran Champions, Would get a miss in about a years time. Change them and same thing would happen again. Got tired of changing them then went with Autolites(plain copper nothing fancy). No issues at all with them.

I’ve always used NGK’s (V-Power copper core)... never an issue.
