Default Sideswiped-left plastic marks

A person (women) in a mini van side swiped me yesterday, I saw her coming out of my right eyes, so i veered left and she got me with her mirror, she never even stopped, but I have her mirror. Anyhow it left black plastic marks on my hood right beside/around antenna, no scratches, just rub marks.

Whats a good buffing compound, that I dont have to send to California to get.

I used No7 Clear Coat Polishing Compound to buff the minor scratches out of my truck. I then did a clear coat polish by meguirs and a meguirs wax to protect it all. My dad thought I had the truck painted afterwards.

I used just plain liquid wax on a electric buffer to remove tree scratches. The key is the electric buffer spinning like mad.

use any of the 3M products..... when i detailed cars at a dealership in highschool,,, i love that stuff... also what helps is getting that turtlewax ( i know its crap) that is tinted with your color... i use with a buffer pollisher and it helps alot in filling in the scuffs ans scratches... untill i can get the car buffed out..

Try using good ol rubbing alcohol on a rag to get the plastic off first. Then wax with your choice of wax. The tinted wax does work somewhat if you have an actual scratch.

NO, NO, Not the SPORT LOGO!!!! [sm=lol.gif] Glad you got it fixed........Alcohol (rubbing) takes care of many problems like that. Acetone works too, but you have to be REALLY careful not to overdo it with that stuff. The red tinted wax would probably work well on your red truck if you ever get a scratch. The "in-between" colors don't get as good results as you do with the actual paint and wax color being the same.

Good luck hunting the mirrorless non-driver........[sm=shootshoot.gif]
