Default 3500 Gen 2 upper bal joint

Sorry if this is a repeat question, 1999 3500 2WD IFS, replaced both upper and lower ball joints 1K miles ago with Moog ball joints, old joint pressed out hard, new joint pressed in hard, the other day it started steering funny, upper ball joint was out of the control arm. I know that these are a press fit and that is all that retains them but something is amiss, they pressed in hard with a ball joint press so what's up? Thanks Tad

See how loose it is if you press it back in.

I was browsing this morning and look what showed up, I used the Moog problem solver, I guess we should call them the problem maker.

Well, I pressed it back in and it felt as though it should be sufficiently tight, my press is made with two 1 inch bolts to do the pressing, I don't know how many tons that is but with an 1 1/2 inch wrench pulling on two 1 inch bolts, one would think that should be tight but I didn't trust it so I machined a cap for the top of the ball joint, pressed it on and then put three smaller welds equidistance around the cap. I did not want to weld on the case hardened ball joint itself so the cap allowed me to weld mild steel to the A-frame, should be better than new

That's one way to do it!
