Default 1995 Dodge W2500 V-10

Hi everyone. My friend has a 1995 4WD 2500 pickup with the 8.0 L V-10. His wife was driving it and the ignition control module (ICM) went south. He has tried every parts dealer in the west coast trying to find a replacement, but to no avail. Apparently, Dodge used this system for only 2 or possibly 3 years (1994-1996) and a replacement Echlin (from NAPA) is listed in their parts catalog, but when our parts dealer goes to request it, it comes back that the part is obsolete. THe part number (Echlin) is TP-304. The dealer here in Nevada doesn't have any ideas and calls to Chrsyler fall on deaf ears. Any help you can give us would be much appreciated. Thanks Ralph

This is a very common problem for early V10s. Sadly, it's hard to get one. As Steve mentioned, try a junk yard. Or, if he can wait, they do come up on ebay (search for "Dodge V10"). You can try and see if you can order it through www.chryslerpartsdirect.com as well. It's worth a shot. Good luck!
