Recommendations- 2wd Passenger leaf spring & shackle replacement
this is a 2001 Dodge Club cab v8 1500 2wd
I am looking for recommendations on what type / brand of spring and shackle I should buy along with the brake line. Rust is a real issue around here and the fact 3 leaf unprotected springs come up for this truck is somewhat frightening and there seem to be hoards of different options.
Anyway.
I had my trucks rear passenger leaf spring (end) and shackle break sitting in my driveway, this also broke the brake line near the hub so it leaks bad.
Ive looked and this seems to be a very common issue.
ive had brake lines blow before but never a leaf spring I am around the Wausau area and am curious what folks recommend. Normally I would replace something like this my self but it looks like a torch and hammer job. Used to be local places that fabbed these up, no idea anymore who to go through.
Anyway
this truck is a weekend yard waste and furniture moving device and doesnt drive huge miles, just need to get a few more years of service without blowing 3 grand on overpriced meatheads.
thanx for your help

Maybe check S or SW junkyards and have good clean used shipped. That is what I would probably do. Otherwise, you could check springs and things.

You might try these guys from the other side of the U.S.A.:https://deaverspring.com/. From my experience they have a good product and their prices are pretty good.

I had good luck with SS Tubes for brake lines. Sold in sets...front and rear. Every piece was pre-bent, and fit perfectly. 1500 Ram lines are notorious for rusting out along the driver's side frame rail by the gas tank. I paid a few extra bucks and got stainless steel sets front and back.
